About the author

Victoria Bobie was born in the Netherlands, but her roots lie in Ghana. She grew up in a Ghanaian household and was surrounded by the Ghanaian language and culture from an early age. This deep connection has grown into a strong love for Ghana, her heritage, and a passion for passing it on to the next generation.

In addition to her love for storytelling and language, Victoria is studying law and works within the legal field for the government. Through her book, she organizes projects that connect parents and caregivers with education and culture in an accessible and engaging way. She combines her civic-mindedness with creativity and a strong commitment to her community.

Victoria has six years of experience working in a library and was previously involved as a "reading lady" for kindergarten classes at a primary school, where she loved reading aloud to young children. Today, she continues to host workshops, reading sessions, and information events for parents and caregivers, with a focus on language development and cultural awareness.

In 2024, a long-held dream came true with the publication of her first children’s book: Een wereld vol getallen in Akan Twi. Through this book, she introduces children to the Ghanaian language and culture in a playful and educational way. And this is just the beginning — more books and learning materials are already in the works!
